The World Bank develops and finances a project at the request of the Government of Turkey. An appraisal of the project's feasibility and loan terms is followed by negotiations, Board approval, and signing. The loan becomes effective after it has been ratified by the Turkish parliament. More on Project Cycle. The main spheres of World Bank support to Turkey are employment generation, social protection, health, water supply and sanitation, environment, agriculture, infrastructure, legal reform, public sector management, and power sector reform.
