coverWorld Bank Institute (WBI) in partnership with Marmara University is preparing the Turkish version of the publication titled, the Role of Local Governments in Reducing the Risk of Disasters. The aim of the publication is to provide central and local government officials with munitions to deal with disasters at the local level. The book describes the framework of disaster risk reduction, the role of different levels of governments and their collaboration in reducing vulnerabilities and presents case studies of best practices. The publication will be officially introduced to Turkish audience in this workshop in Istanbul.
