As part of the collaboration between middle income countries, World Bank Institute's Istanbul and Moscow offices are planning to bring together Turkish and Russian academia and other relevant groups to exchange views and information on internal migration in both countries.

The main focus of this session will be on the reports Russian consultants, Zh. Zayonchkovskaya and N. Mkrtchya, have written. Their research represents the attempt to find out whether (and to what extent) the effective standard practices that govern the Russian labor migrants’ rights are violated or not and in what direction the respective laws should be corrected. The event will also highlight common practices and procedures implemented both in Russia and Turkey, and provide recommendations for challenges faced.
